Terms of Use

The rules for using the GRANDPAL app for iPhone, provided by GRANDPAL s.r.o.

Effective 26 October 2026

The short version

Use GRANDPAL for your own memories, don't misuse it, and keep your iPhone backed up — your moments live only on your device, so we can't restore them for you.

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the GRANDPAL app for iPhone (the “App”), provided by GRANDPAL s.r.o., Československé armády 275/21, 500 03 Hradec Králové, Czech Republic (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the App; these Terms supplement it.

The App

GRANDPAL is a personal journal that lets you save moments — a title, a date, a mood and an optional note — and view them in a list or a calendar. The App works without an account and stores everything only on your device. We may improve, change or remove features in future updates.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. All rights in the App, including its design, texts and the GRANDPAL name, remain with us.

Your moments

The moments you create belong to you. They are stored only on your iPhone, and we have no access to them. You are responsible for keeping backups of your device. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover moments that are deleted, lost with a device or removed together with the App.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App in any unlawful way;
  • copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • remove or alter any copyright or other notices;
  • interfere with the App's security or proper operation.

Provided “as is”

We work hard to make GRANDPAL reliable, but the App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted. GRANDPAL is a journaling tool and is not a medical, psychological or therapeutic service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for loss of data, including moments lost through deletion, device loss or failure. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If you use the App as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with its effective date. If you continue to use the App after an update, the updated Terms apply.
